
We invite any Christians working in healthcare and others to join us on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, for a focused day of prayer for the health service.
Whatever your experience or current challenges, let us bring our thanks, fears, hopes, and prayers to our heavenly Father. You may also wish to consider fasting in some way during the day.
We have chosen Lamentations 3: 19-24 as our focus verses for the day. We pray that as we wait on the Lord in prayer, we will remember the Lord’s great love, never-failing compassion, and great faithfulness and why, therefore, we have hope.
Lamentations 3: 19-24
I remember my affliction and my wandering,
the bitterness and the gall.
I well remember them,
and my soul is downcast within me.
Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.’
Things to Pray for
- Begin with praise. Consider Lamentations 3: 22-23. Acknowledge who God is and spend time thanking Him for this.
- Reflect on Lamentations 3: 19-20. Be honest before God as you bring the joys and the sorrows of the health service before Him.
- Pray for the patients and their families who are struggling with ill health, wearied by challenges in accessing healthcare and/or experiencing delays in treatment.
- Pray for staff across the health services across the UK and Ireland. Pray particularly for the weary, stressed, burnt-out, and disillusioned.
- Pray for God’s people working in the health service to have hope (Lamentations 3: 21) and be bringers of hope.

- Register for the CMF prayer gathering on Zoom (25 March, 8-9 pm)
- Take time for personal reflection and prayer
- Make use of our Spotify playlist
- Consider fasting from something to create space for prayer during the day
- Share prayer requests and encouragements on the prayer wall
- Print our Day of Prayer poster and share with others.
- Take opportunities to pray as you commute and go about your day
- Join others to pray locally or in your workplace
- Invite others to join in with the day of prayer
