We support current Christian healthcare leaders and managers through a variety of means, including online and in-person events, and monthly prayer gatherings in cohorts. These forums provide a space for role-modelling, discussing unique issues, and receiving support, advice, and prayer.
Are you in a leadership role in the healthcare sector? Whether you are a clinical or non-clinical leader, working in the NHS or the private sector, there are times when being a leader can be lonely. As a Christian, it can be even more lonely, having no one to share your struggles, questions, and prayer needs with.
Christian in Healthcare Leadership (CHLN) is here for you. Our vision is to unite and equip Christian leaders in healthcare (both current and future) to live and speak for Jesus Christ. We welcome clinical and non-clinical leaders and managers, empowering you to be a godly influence in your role.
At CHLN, we are committed to fostering a supportive community and sharpening relationships, modelling what it means to be salt and light in challenging circumstances. We support one another to integrate our daily work with a distinctive faith in Jesus. We seek to influence the workplace culture and model servant leadership to the next generation of leaders.
How do we do this?
If this sounds like what you have been looking for as a Christian in healthcare leadership, we would love to have you join our network.
The Christian Healthcare Leadership Network (CHLN) is an initiative of the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF). If you want to be part of the network, please join CMF (you don’t have to be a medic, nurse, or midwife) or become a Friend of CMF first.
If you are already a CMF Member or CMF Friend, join CHLN below – there are no additional costs!
For more information about CHLN in general, please contact us on volunteer@cmf.org.uk.
Chris Holcombe – CMF Associate, overseeing CHLN
‘It is a pleasure to join the team at CMF and a real privilege to be heading up the Christian Healthcare Leadership Network (CHLN).
Healthcare leadership is more challenging than ever with impossible demands at every turn; and yet there has never been a greater need for Godly leadership, and the application of God’s Kingdom values in ethical issues, in the use of scarce resources, in the treatment of staff, and in the multiple decisions, meetings chaired, and emails answered every day.
We can and should have a prophetic voice speaking truth to power locally and on the national stage, however unwelcome this may be. We believe that this can and will make a difference, but only if the salt gets out of the saltcellar.
CHLN has been formed to support Christian Leaders in Healthcare, and to encourage and equip those considering this as part of their career. Do get in touch if this is you and let us know how we can best support you. You can email me at chris.holcombe@cmf.org.uk.
We absolutely do not want to add another burden to your week, but rather to provide the spiritual and practical equivalent of a sweet, cold drink on a sweltering day, that refreshes and empowers.
I’ve been involved with CMF since student days, and am a recently retired surgeon, having held multiple leadership roles within the NHS. I am married to Sue, have four children, and eight grandchildren. We love living in Pembrokeshire, and I love to get to the mountains when I can.’
